Staying at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms were a bit small for two people with big luggages, but they had a clever system where opting out of room cleaning earned you a coin for a free drink from the vending machine. The service was typically friendly and helpful as you'd expect in Kumamoto. The location was decent, just a 10-minute walk from great shops and dining spots, but a bit far from the tram station. The dining options were good overall, with a view of Kumamoto Castle, but some felt there could be more variety. Although there were some downsides, the stay was still enjoyable.
